Added

Follower growth for X, Bluesky, Mastodon and Threads

Analytics now has a Follower growth card. NoteSurge records your follower count once a day for each connected account and shows the current number, the change over 1, 7 and 30 days, and a small trend line. History starts the day you connect, and a change reads n/a until there is a snapshot that old.

If a platform refuses the read (X needs a paid API tier for it, Threads needs the insights permission, or the connection has expired), the card says which and what to do instead of showing an empty chart. None of the four reads has run against a live account yet.

See the status of skills you submitted to the marketplace

Your own submissions now appear in the Skills tab with their status and any note from the reviewer.

Short links with click counts, and a first comment on any post

Turn on Track links in Compose and links in your post and first comment become short NoteSurge links, with optional UTM tags added without overwriting ones you already have. A new Links panel in Analytics shows clicks per post, the last 30 days, and top referrers, and lets you take a link down. Only the day and the referring site are counted: no IP address and no browser details, and visitors who send Do Not Track are not counted.

  • First comment: write a reply that posts right after the note goes out on X, Threads, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. Other platforms say they are not supported.
  • A comment that fails never fails the note. The queue card shows it with a Retry button, and a posted comment is never posted twice.

The LinkedIn and Threads comment calls have not been tried against live accounts.

Engagement inbox and competitor benchmarks

The Analytics tab now has a read-only inbox of replies, mentions and quotes on your own posts, with filters, a mark-as-handled switch, and an AI-suggested reply you copy and post yourself. NoteSurge never sends anything from it. Benchmark lets you watch up to 10 public Substack, Bluesky or Mastodon accounts and compares posting rhythm and engagement with your own on the same platform.

The inbox reads Bluesky and Mastodon today. Threads, X, Substack Notes and YouTube say why they are not available yet. Neither live reader has run against a real account.

Notey now leaves notes on your new Library pieces

When you add a piece of 280 characters or more, Notey can write a short margin note on it in the background. It is limited to a few pieces per hour and ten notes a day, only runs on your own AI key, and respects the stop switch. Turn it off under AI, Agent behavior.

Audio versions of Library pieces

Make an audio version in a Library card menu narrates a piece to an mp3, and Clean up the audio evens out the volume, trims silence and can add an intro and outro. Narration uses your own OpenAI key, or a text-to-speech service you point NoteSurge at.

Without a key or service, the menu says so before anything is spent. Clean up needs an audio worker to be set up.

Typed SDK, client workspaces for agencies, and white label

A typed JavaScript client covers notes, scheduling, the Library and analytics. The public API gains top posts and best times. Agencies can create a separate workspace for each client, each with its own connections, queue and Library and its own people and roles, and set a brand name, logo and color that clients see on review pages, invite emails and in the app.

The SDK is not published to npm yet, and custom domains for white label are reserved but not live.

Talk to Notey over iMessage

Connect your own BlueBubbles server in Settings and Notey answers your iMessages, mirrors the daily digest, and lets you approve or dismiss proposals by replying "approve 2" or "dismiss all". It only answers the one number you allow, and ignores group chats.

You run the BlueBubbles server on your own Mac. It has not been tried against a real server yet.

PDF export for pieces, drafts and analytics

Export PDF is now on Library cards, drafts and the analytics report. A Terms section also explains that the Substack connection is unofficial.

LinkedIn mentions, repost with commentary, and PDF carousels

Tag people and companies in a LinkedIn post, repost one of your own posts with your commentary on top, or publish your slide images as a swipeable PDF carousel. Special characters in LinkedIn text are now escaped so a post is no longer cut off at a bracket.

Tagging a person needs their member ID pasted in, because LinkedIn offers no lookup for it. Posting as a company page is off until LinkedIn approves it. Nothing here has been tried against a live LinkedIn account, and Compose does not have a screen for it yet (API only).

Team comments, resolve, draft history, edit warnings, and a writing assistant

Members can comment on a draft inside NoteSurge and @mention each other (the mention goes to your team channel). A thread can be resolved and reopened, each draft has its own history, and you are warned when someone else has the draft open or saved since you did, with a choice to overwrite. In the Compose AI panel, Continue, Feedback and Tighten work from your voice sample and standing instructions.

The warning never blocks a save.

Auto-plug: a reply under your own post, when it takes off or after a delay

Write a follow-up in Compose and it posts as a reply under your own post once it reaches a number of likes, reposts or replies within 1 to 72 hours, or after a fixed delay. The queue card shows it waiting, posted, expired or failed, with Cancel and Retry. One plug per post and five a day per workspace.

Likes and reposts work on X, Bluesky and Mastodon. Threads and LinkedIn support the delay only. None of it has run against live accounts yet.

Native X and Threads stats, a Typefully leftovers notice, and CSV export

X and Threads posts you publish through NoteSurge now report likes, reposts and views in Analytics, top posts and best times. Posts published before this cannot be measured. If a platform refuses the read, the Combined view says why instead of showing zeros. Export CSV in the Combined view downloads the rows on screen, grouped by post, week or month.

  • Queued notes that still carry a Typefully draft id now show a notice in Compose, because they publish from NoteSurge and could post twice if Typefully also holds them.
  • Connecting X or Threads now saves your profile picture.

X needs a paid API tier to read stats, and Threads needs the insights permission, which only new connections request.

More X options, an emoji picker, focus mode, GIFs and a LinkedIn preview

Under More X options: who can reply, Made with AI and Paid partnership labels, posting to a Community, and tagging people in photos. The editor gains an emoji picker, focus mode (Cmd or Ctrl+Shift+F, Esc to leave), paste from Google Docs, Notion or Word that keeps paragraphs and lists, and earlier/later buttons for reordering media. LinkedIn now has a preview with an approximate "see more" fold.

GIF search appears once a GIPHY key is set up. There is no link-card toggle, because X offers no way to switch it off.

Write real threads on X, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon

Write as a thread splits a draft into separate posts, each with its own counter and images. Split at the cursor (button or Alt+Enter), join, move or delete posts, pick numbering (none, 1/ or 1/n), and add a finisher post that can quote your opening one. A preview shows exactly what each platform will send. Plain text still auto-splits as before.

Not yet tried against live accounts.

Queue times that follow your account, and tags, search, pins, a scratchpad and planned notes

Your queue times are now saved to your account instead of one browser, so Compose, Rebalance, the API and MCP all use the same slots, and slots you had saved in a browser move over once. Notes can be tagged and filtered by tag, searched by text, and pinned to the top of Drafts. A scratchpad sits in the Drafts tab, and a Planned note keeps a date without ever posting by itself until you schedule it.

Slot times use the server time zone, as before.

Changed

Threads posts now count in what NoteSurge learns about your openings

When you publish two versions of the same idea on Threads, the likes and reposts they get are now compared the same way X and Bluesky results already were, and the winning openings show up as a learned pattern in the AI tab. It still needs three measured head-to-heads before it says anything.

Newsletters get real titles and a confirm step before they email

A newsletter with no title now takes the first line of its body instead of showing as untitled. Scheduling or posting one with email delivery tells you it will email your subscribers and cannot be taken back; web-only delivery says no email goes out. Saving as a draft never asks.

Emailing a real publication has not been run end to end yet. If Substack does not confirm the email went out, the note is flagged instead of reported as sent.

A clearer front page

The landing page explains what NoteSurge is in plain words, lists the places Notey works (the web app, Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, REST and MCP, with iMessage next), has a "What you can do" section, and uses one Join the waitlist button. The waitlist form is also more careful about repeat and junk sign-ups.

Anyone can submit a skill to the marketplace

Submitted skills go live straight away, up to five a day per person. Every listing is labelled as community submitted and unreviewed, installing asks you to confirm, and reported skills can be taken down.

Fixed

Connect any platform first, with no Substack account needed

A new account that started by connecting X, Bluesky or another platform could hit "Connect a Substack account first" at several entry points. Your workspace is now set up the moment you need it, so any platform works as a starting point.

X sign-in no longer expires after a couple of hours

X rotates its sign-in tokens every time they refresh, and the old tokens were being thrown away, so the second post after an expiry could fail. The new tokens are now kept.

Not yet confirmed against a live X account.

Landing page label fix

The analytics panel on the landing page is numbered to match its section, and a repeated explanation was removed from "What you can do".
